Ben Schlidt

Ben Schlidt is a New York–based painter working in oil and distemper. His paintings draw from photographs, memory, and lived experience to explore the shifting relationship between place, perception, and time. Through layered washes, exposed surfaces, and material experimentation, his work embraces the tension between representation and abstraction, allowing images to emerge gradually through the process of painting.
